Colorado has a way of making everything else fade into the background. At Peaks to Plains Trail, the mountains stretched for miles, the golden light settled over the landscape, and the whole evening felt unhurried in the best possible way. We wandered the trail, chased the last bit of sunlight, and let the session unfold naturally without worrying about perfect poses or a packed shot list. Those slower moments, the laughter between photos, the quiet walks, and the way they looked at each other when they forgot the camera was, are always my favorite. That’s what documentary photography is all about. It’s less about directing every moment and more about preserving the feeling of being there.
