Real Emotions > Perfect Poses?

You know the kind of photo where everyone’s smiling but it doesn’t feel like anyone’s actually feeling anything? Yeah, no thanks.

As a documentary-style wedding photographer based in South Florida, I’m drawn to the raw stuff—the belly laughs, the blink-and-you-miss-it tears, the spontaneous weirdness that makes a moment real.

Those are the photos that hit. The ones that make you feel something ten years later. Not just “look nice.”

Your Day, Not a Photoshoot

Ever been at a wedding where it felt like the photographer was the director and you were just there to follow orders? Same.

This is not that.

I’m not here to stage moments—I’m here to witness them. That means no constant posing, no interrupting the rhythm of your day. Whether you’re eloping in the Florida Keys, getting married at a local Fort Lauderdale courthouse, or hosting a backyard bash, documentary-style photography keeps the focus where it belongs: on your actual experience.

Photos That Actually Feel Like You

Every couple has a vibe. Some are chaotic and loud. Others are quiet, sarcastic, deeply tender.

You deserve wedding photos that reflect your energy—not someone else’s idea of what a wedding should look like. Candid wedding photography gives you space to be yourself. It doesn’t flatten you into Pinterest poses or try to make you look like strangers. It just… sees you

It Catches What You Didn’t See

On your wedding day, you’ll be in the middle of it all—but you won’t catch everything. Your best friend tearing up during your vows. Your parents laughing in the background. The way your partner looks at you when you’re not looking back.

This is where documentary wedding photography shines. I’m constantly watching for those unscripted, blink-and-it’s-gone moments.

That’s the story you’ll want to revisit—the stuff that happened between the big “official” moments.

Less Pressure. More Presence

You don’t have to be good in front of a camera. You don’t have to know what to do with your hands. You just have to show up.

As a South Florida elopement and wedding photographer, I’ve worked with camera-shy couples, chaos-loving couples, and everything in between. What they all had in common?

They just wanted to be present. To live the day fully. And to trust that someone would quietly, honestly, document it all.

You capture the humour

Weddings are (obviously) incredibly joyous affairs – full of incredibly funny moments and laughter. And, just like the raw emotion capturing, these moments of humor can’t be staged; by their very nature they’re spontaneous.
